President's Letter (continued) November 2009: GREAT FLOOD OF ROYAL OAKS...
Covenant Violations There have been some violations of our neighborhood Covenants in the last few months. Even though letters have been sent to those in violation, I want everyone to know what our Covenants are, and what we expect. There are a total of 28 Covenants, (read all of them here,) but highlighted below are some of the most commonly violated. Letters will continue to be sent with each violation and if not corrected, the appropriate course of action can be taken by the Board. You will be responsible for the costs associated with that action. Please take the time to read these covenants, and understand we will be enforcing them.
Nominations Open for Board Elections It’s coming close to ending another year as President of ROEHA and I want to take this time to thank all the members of the Board for their hard work. With all the personal challenges I’m sure each of us is facing through these times, each of you has shown exceptional participation in the Association in some capacity when it has come to volunteering for clean-up days or meeting the deadlines I have asked with regards to neighborhood business. Having a place on the Board of this subdivision is more than attending meetings and giving your point of view. It comes down to involvement in the neighborhood, plain and simple. We are an association without a management company. That means it is up to us to keep up with the finances and enforce the covenants. That is why it is so important we have the right people on the Board. We will be losing a few Board members this year. Most of you living in the neighborhood have served in some capacity before. I am encouraging you to get involved on the Board, again. Especially in these times ahead, we need more than ever a solid team of people to be a part of heading up this neighborhood. Feel free to contact any current Board member with your questions concerning the opening positions. May 2009: IT’S SUMMERTIME!!!!!It’s almost here….SUMMERTIME!!! The time when the kids are out of school and the pool is open!! YEAH!!!! (I think…) I’m sure that most of you have seen the work going on at the pool in the last month. This is because we had to replace the drain covers to meet a new regulation for public pools. This new drain cover will make it safer for everyone that enjoys the pool. I am really looking forward to a great summer and many fun days with all of you there. This is a part of the neighborhood that I and the rest of the Board Members hope you enjoy. We are very fortunate to have a well maintained and enjoyable area for friends and family. The HOA members are working hard to improve a few more items of security for both the clubhouse and the neighborhood. There are plans for additional lighting and video surveillance that are being reviewed as I write this, that should bring a little more “security” to our clubhouse and entrance. Please know that your safety and security are one of our first priorities. I know it’s hard to start thinking about the end of the year already, but as
in years past, it comes up very fast. This year we will be looking for a few
more people to join the ranks on the Royal Oaks Home Owner Association Board.
This is just the beginning of many reminder letters to everyone in the
neighborhood. Begin to think about this opportunity and I am here to answer any
questions you might have. December 2008: HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE,It has been another great year as the President of Royal Oaks Home Owner’s Association. My family and I are truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful neighborhood. I want to take this opportunity to personally thank, not only the Board Members, but to each of you that volunteered your time this year at Board meetings and the various activities we had for the neighborhood. I believe that each of them was a tremendous success and everyone had a great time! I do want to touch on a subject of concern as we head into 2009. As the economic times of our Country continue to digress, the values of our homes are impacted negatively. Now the reality is that even though we cannot directly control the economy directly from our little neighborhood, we can do all we can to continue to accentuate the unique qualities and beauty of our neighborhood. One of my main initiatives for the 2009 year is to push our own Clean and Beautiful Initiative just like how Gwinnett County is doing. As we face the challenging times, it becomes just that more important that proper maintenance and up-keep is a primary focus. I am sure each of you values the unique qualities of our neighborhood and would like to keep them a priority. I do not want it to be overshadowed by un-kept yards, poor house conditions or any other unattractive distractions as we drive or walk through our streets. It will be up to all of us to keep this initiative alive throughout the whole year. Again, I would like to thank Pam Wilkinson for designing our new website for the neighborhood! It looks GREAT! I hope everyone has a prosperous 2009 and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me anytime. Regards, Ryan Buzby October 2008I am so excited to be able to get this rolling with the other Board members. I believe this is truly going to be a wonderful addition to our neighborhood and a real opportunity to add even more of a family atmosphere to one of the greatest neighborhoods around. I would first like to thank Gloria Albritton for her many years of service to lay the foundation for the website, and a big Thank You to Pam Wilkinson for taking it over. There are many new ideas in store, and I am really looking forward to a new, INVOLVED NEIGHBORHOOD WEBSITE. I will be giving updates to the website periodically. We are a closely-knit neighborhood, and good communications with the Board help keep it that way. We are a neighborhood that both respects our neighbors' privacy and yet keeps a watchful eye to make sure that we are all protected. We know that balance, and I am proud to be a part of a neighborhood with that foundation. As another year goes by, we have been blessed with a great summer of fun. As the end of the year approaches, I feel confident we will end the year on a high note. Thank you for making Royal Oaks a great neighborhood!!!!
